Tiny Thais Program
Fun and familiar games, and still teaches the children the art of Thai Boxing.
They will have fun learning Thai boxing all the while learning discipline and group interaction. It is difficult to keep children interested in sport if it is kept too serious and that is why this program is designed to teach Thai Boxing through a variety of sport specific games and fun group interactions.

Thai Kids Program
The Thai Kids program takes the Juniors to the next level of Thai Boxing with more Thai Boxing based drills and sparring.
The Kids Thai program is now starting to develop the Juniors within the art of Thai Boxing a bit more seriously , with more specific Thai Boxing drills and some sparring. The program is still fun but harder work can be done to develop the kids fitness, coordination, agility, strength and skills.
THE THAI KIDS LEARN AUTHENTIC THAI BOXING DRILLS AND TECHNIQUES WHILST STILL BEING BLENDED WITH FUN SPORT SPECIFIC GAMES.
A TIME FOR FUN & LEARNING
More sport specific drills that relate to actual Thai Boxing now take place in the class. A good advancement from the Tiny Thais games. A greater expectation on discipline and respect is placed on the Thai Kids and encouragement to focus on the lesson and be able to reproduce the techniques being taught. We also introduce them to what becomes their favourite part of the class – Sparring!
Class Uniform and Training Gear
The Thai kids need the Academy Uniform plus some protective gear. Body shields and shin guards are required for the sparring that they do. This keeps them safe and gets them used to the equipment that is required, if they wish to compete in Junior Thai Boxing matches.
We also recommend getting a groin guard for the boys and gum shields, although there is no contact to the head in sparring for this age group.

Thai Teens Program
The Thai Teens program is for ages 13 and upwards and teaches authentic Thai Boxing inside a more disciplined and challenging class format.
The Thai Teens classes are where the Juniors take their kickboxing to the next level. These classes are still fun and safe but have a more mature approach to training now. There are less games and more detail is spent with the techniques and the importance of correct drilling and sparring. The importance of self-discipline and conditioning is also still promoted along with continued respect for both their fellow students and their instructors. This age group often sees the largest differences in size between the younger and older students, so the instructors look at keeping the training safe with no mismatches in training partners.
THE THAI TEENS PROGRAM MOVES THE JUNIORS TOWARDS A MORE ADULT APPROACH TO TEACHING WHILST STILL MAINTAINING THE FUN ELEMENTS OF A JUNIORS CLASS.
NEXT LEVEL SPARRING FOR THE TEENS
The sparring part of the class now removes the body shield from the equipment list, although it can still be worn if preferred. It also puts a little more focus on defending the head, a previously, out of bounds target. We also introduce more ‘Lin Chern’, or one to one drills, so that the Teen can learn tactical combinations and defence and start to get a good feel for range.
Class Uniform and Training Gear
The Thai Teens need the Academy Uniform plus some protective gear. Body shields are no longer required (although still an option) and shin guards are required for the sparring that they do. The equipment at this level might need replaced from previous classes and slightly more robust protection can be bought. Shin guards in particular should have foam ones replaced with the stronger leather ones.
We also recommend getting a groin guard for the boys and gum shields, although there is no contact to the head in sparring for this age group.

Junior Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Program
The program is run by our Junior BJJ coaches and supported by the Academy’s Carlson Gracie Black Belts. It follows the IBJJF grading structure and teaches a fun and challenging BJJ course that allows the Juniors to learn the fundamentals of grappling in a safe environment.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport, and a self defence system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. Sparring (commonly referred to as “rolling”) and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress through its ranking system.
The over-riding principle in this sport is leverage and technique thus giving a smaller, weaker person a huge advantage over a stronger opponent with less training experience. So it is especially useful for children who are generally smaller.
THE JUNIORS BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU PROGRAM IS NOW ONE OF OUR LARGEST JUNIORS PROGRAMS AND TEACHES CHILDREN AGES 6 TO 16 THE AUTHENTIC ART OF BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU A FANTASTIC FORM OF TAKE DOWNS AND GRAPPLING.
HIGH LEVEL COACHING
Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a great sport for all the attributes such as fitness and conditioning. However, some of the real benefits of BJJ are its ability to build friendships, grow confidence and develop self-esteem and leadership.

Junior BJJ Competition Team
The Competition Team is for Juniors that have been training for a while and are over the age of 8 Years old. These Juniors train to compete in Junior IBJJF Competitions against students of a similar age, rank and weight.
Training to compete is a lot harder and much more focused than the normal classes, with work around cardio conditioning and competition tactics. The Juniors are expected to train with less supervision when drilling and hence there is requirement for slightly older children that want to test themselves on the competition mat.
When students attend competitions, the parents are expected to travel with the Juniors to the events and be around during the competition. However, the coaches will be the ones looking after them during the matches, weigh-ins, bout preparation and bull pen coaching.
