Class Descriptions:

Mon 5.30pm: An FMA covering all the areas including Panantukan, or Filipino Boxing. Instructor: Peter Richardson

Mon 6.30pm: In the other part of the training area, there is a Kali class covering the FMA curriculum of AMAG. This is Inosanto Blend Kali. Instructor: Patrick Davies

Tues 6.15pm: The JKD/Jun Fan class is a favourite in the club. This covers the Jun Fan curriculum whilst adding improvements to suit the participents needs. A proper sweat fest which satifies the cardio addict whilst repeatedly working on the fundementals that simply make you a great martial artist. Not only will you get fit, you'll be combat fit! Instructor: Patrick Davies

Tues 7.15pm: Leigh's CSW (cross training MMA) class covers kickboxing through to the grappling range. It is a necessity for the complete martial artist and for anyone truly interested in realistic self-defense. The class in the grappling/ground fighting arts include elements from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, JKD Grappling, Kali and Silat. Classes are based on drills that promote ease of motion and proper technique. Techniques focus on using balance, leverage, and technique to efficiently end a confrontation with joint locks and chokes. Striking, positioning, escapes/reversals, chokes and joint locking are all taught.

Each of the arts adds an integral piece to the grappling puzzle, developing a sense for proper positioning and technique over strength, seamless transitioning between striking, clinching and a rapid-fire ground game while Kali-Silat provides the principles and tactics when the situation requires a more serious response than just a "submission." Classes are fun and appropriate for people of all levels.Instructor: Leigh Richardson

Wed 7.15pm: Double stick, single stick, empty hands, this class helps with coordination as well as giving you a devastating weapons art. This is Inosanto Blend Kali. Instructor: Leigh Richardson

Wed 8.15pm: Panantukan, or Filipino Boxing, is one of several empty hand areas in the art of Kali and comprises one of the 5 arts emphasized at AMAG. Punches, elbows, knees, head butts, low kicks, shoulder and forearm strikes are combined with a diverse combination of body manipulations and "nasty" tactics to form an extremely effective 'boxing' method.

This art was traditionally a bare handed contest so the tactics differ slightly from the arts that are conditioned to use a glove. The choice of targets is expanded because there are no "illegal blows." The back of the head, the groin, the arms and the spine are common targets in this art. Instructor: Ray Wilson

Thurs 7.15pm: Erik Paulsons CSW. Submission wrestling. Instructor Leigh Richardson

Fri 6pm: Combat Athletic and Kettlebells. You need to have to done the kettlebell Induction workshop to participate in this one (ask Reception for the next course). Train to be an athlete utising fighting drills as used in all THE TOP fight gyms in the world. Instructor Ray Wilson

Sat 10.45am: Maphilindo Silat -Inosanto Method. Maphilindo Silat and Madjapahit Martial Art was created by Guro Dan Inosanto. The system is a compilation of the Madjapahit, Philippines and the Indonisian Martial Arts. Instructor: Pat Davies
